In this 1 hour and 19 minute video, Sterling Edwards shows you how to paint what he refers to as his signature style of painting. He calls these paintings, "Representational Abstracts". They are a balance of traditional and abstract styles. In this video Sterling is painting a fun and semi-abstract still life with bottles of wine, glasses, fruit, and a large bowl sitting on a table. In the video he explains in detail his thought process as he takes you through the painting. You'll learn about negative painting, saving white paper, building a strong composition, using calligraphy to add an abstract element to your painting, the importance of building rich and dark values and much more.
This video is intended for all skill levels, however; previous watercolor and drawing experience is always helpful.
